Overview

Background

Wikicamp Chattogram 2019 is a day-long event for experienced and new Wikimedians from Chattogram, Bangladesh. The core objective of the event is to increase offline activities of the Wikimedia Bangladesh in Chattogram, to develop skills and expertise of the new Wikipedians and integrated experienced and newcomers.

This is the first initiative in Bangladesh of its kind being held in Chattogram organised by Chattogram Wikipedia Community, were providing technical guidance about Wikimedia Foundation's three projects - Wikipedia, Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, and as well as give a detailed discussion of those projects.

Venue and Logistics

Initially, we had a plan for a venue where participants can stay a long time and enjoy the event environment. We conducted a place for the event venue from the shortlisted three restaurants in Chattogram where we can organize the event. Finally, the venue for the event was chosen by the unanimous support of the WCC team. The gallery, located into the east gallery of the M. A. Aziz Stadium, which is placed in the central part of the Chattogram metropolitan city and well connected with city routes. We also tried our best to provide faster internet connectivity to the participants.

Cuisine

We decided to offer special Italian and Indian teast to the participants at lunch. Falooda and Coffee served as a dessert.

5	Session on Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons for the newcomers	These three sessions were successful as per the instant outcomes in Wikipedia, WikiData and Wikimedia Commons by their contribution of new Wikimedian
6	Discussion on strategies for offline Wikimedia activities in Chattogram Community	We have followed up the participants about our Next Photo walk Plan in Chattogram as offline activities.
